		document.write('.<br/>A friend of mine turned up with this cart wheel and asked if I could do anything with it as it had been a garden ornament for the last 20 years.  And I said that the first thing that springs to mind is to set fire to it. Although not being a turning project or a segmented project it had both of these disciplines involved in it. Bearing in mind it was only going to be a garden ornament I thought I would try and remake it. As you can see from the second photo, when trying to dismantle it, it did not need a large hammer. The hub was turned out of oak. The spokes I had to make up a jig for tapering on the bench saw. The six segments of the wheel proper were bevelled, temporarily fitted to a piece of plywood and then sawn on the bandsaw with another jig I had to make. Having done the outside of the wheel I then had to remove one of the segments to complete the inside diameter, and then routed it round on the inside with a rounding over bit.
